Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 17, 2026

Goodfolk Care ("Goodfolk Care," "we," "us," or "our") provides a mobile application that helps families and caregivers coordinate care for a loved one. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Because Goodfolk Care handles health-related information, we treat that information with particular care.

By creating an account or using the app, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information you provide

When you use Goodfolk Care, you and your care team can enter:

2. Information collected automatically

Face ID / biometrics: If you turn on biometric unlock, Face ID is handled entirely by your device's operating system. We never receive, see, or store your biometric data.

3. How we use your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your health information for advertising.

4. How your information is shared

With your care team. Goodfolk Care is built for shared caregiving. Information you add is visible to the family members and caregivers who are part of that care recipient's team, according to the visibility settings you choose for each entry.

With service providers (subprocessors). We rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate the app. They process information only to provide their service to us:

ProviderPurpose
Google FirebaseAccount authentication, database, file storage, and push notifications.
CloudflareSecure proxy that routes voice requests to our AI providers; no application keys are stored in the app.
OpenAISpeech-to-text transcription of voice recordings you make with Kin.
AnthropicInterpreting the transcribed text into a draft care entry (for example, a medication or vital).

Voice audio is sent for transcription and then a text transcript is sent for interpretation. We do not use this audio or transcript to train third-party AI models, and we do not retain the raw audio beyond what is needed to process your request.

For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the public.

5. News content (Daily Brief)

The app's Daily Brief displays caregiving and health articles fetched from public sources (such as the National Institute on Aging and NIH). Tapping an article opens it in your device's browser; from that point, the website you visit handles your information under its own privacy policy.

6. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account (see below), we delete your account profile and associated personal data, except where we are required to keep certain records by law.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. To make a request, contact us at privacy@goodfolk.care.

8. Security

Information is encrypted in transit, access is governed by security rules that limit data to authorized members of a care team, and sensitive AI requests are routed through a secure proxy so application keys are never stored on your device. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard safeguards.

9. Children's privacy

Goodfolk Care is intended for adults coordinating care. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A care recipient's information is entered and managed by the adult caregivers on their team.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" above and, for material changes, provide notice within the app.

11. Contact us
